Helen Kontouris has won multiple national and international design awards as well as partnering with high profile clients such as Alessi, Ritzenhoff and many others. Her designs straddle modernist angles underpinned by organic shapes to produce striking, beautiful pieces. By creating attractive products which perform their function with elegance she hopes to ‘promote a movement against throwawayism’ and encourage preservation of materials through emotional attachment.
As an industrial designer Andrew Berry is strongly invested in high quality manufacturing. Winning the 2006 award for best rotationally moulded project exemplifies his understanding of how production can be applied to form. The simplicity of his products understate the high level of engineering which conserves shape to deliver exciting versions of common objects. His philosophy can be summarised as ‘design should be simple in form and above all inspiring’. His unique seating concept ‘Limbo’ was featured at the Sydney Vivid Festival 2013, demonstrating a sophisticated integration of organic form and technological function.
Highly awarded and highly sought after, Alex Lotersztain has designed projects for major government contracts, leading hotels and prestigious national and international designers. His reputation as one of the 100 most influential designers worldwide (as named by Phaidon) is supported with representation in international exhibitions with Sputnik, Designers Block London, Tokyo, Milano, New York, San Francisco, Berlin and Moscow.
The simplicity of Adam Cornish’s designs belies a strong academic foundation in Industrial Design through the University of Technology Sydney and Furniture Design at RMIT Melbourne.
